Joanna is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

I have specialized training in working with couples and individuals from an emotionally focused perspective. I work with individual clients whose fear or worry shows up at the worst possible times, and support couples who are both leaning in, want to stay together, and want to believe their relationship still has hope, as well as couples who are struggling to figure out what their direction is in their relationship. I support people to form loving connections and improve their relationships with their partner(s) as well as themselves. I meet them where they’re at and support them as well as their relationship. My training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) allows me to provide evidence-based interventions to support both individual clients and couples to create lasting change in their lives.

Clients say I’m not like other therapists. They appreciate that I show up authentically and with humour; I’m not stuffy and I won’t just smile and nod! I create a space where you will feel heard, valued and understood. I have relationship training in EFT to Core Skills level however good rapport with your therapist is critical beyond the type the therapy your therapist is trained in.

I work with individuals and couples, but also continue to stay connected to working with youth, tweens and teens as I did in the beginning of my career and have a particular passion for working with women to rediscover themselves after major life changes. I use an integrative approach to customize therapy to you: including self-compassion, mindfulness, attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Catherine Morissette, RP Registered Psychotherapist, Associate Therapist

Catherine Morissette is a Registered Psychotherapist offering virtual therapy to individuals across Ontario. She is passionate about guiding clients on their journey toward self-discovery, balance, and healing—especially as they explore their relationships with others, their bodies, and food.

Catherine works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, relationship issues, body image concerns, disordered eating, and performance anxiety. She takes an integrative and collaborative approach, tailoring her work to meet each client’s unique needs. Her belief is that every session, exercise, and topic has purpose—and she keeps clients informed and supported every step of the way.

As an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) clinician, Catherine uses this brief, evidence-based approach to help clients resolve symptoms of trauma and stress by changing how the brain processes distressing images. Before becoming a therapist, Catherine worked as a nutrition counsellor after earning her Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science from Ryerson University. During that time, her conversations often led to discussions about mental health, sparking a deeper interest in the mind-body connection and inspiring her to pursue psychotherapy.

She later completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and now balances her role as an associate therapist with her work at an animal hospital, supporting people and their beloved pets through moments of grief and loss. Her deep empathy and comfort with strong emotions allow her to hold safe space for others, even in their most difficult moments.

Catherine’s approach is inclusive, trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppression and cultural responsiveness. She draws inspiration from animals and nature—finding presence, calm, and connection in both—and brings that grounding energy into her practice.

Catherine welcomes clients of all ages and backgrounds and sees therapy as a space where people can feel seen, heard, and understood. She knows from personal experience the importance of safe, supportive spaces—something she first experienced through her own therapist as a young person struggling with anxiety. That relationship became the foundation for her commitment to helping others heal.

Outside of her work, you can find Catherine hiking with her dog Ahsoka, playing video games, reading, or spending time with loved ones. As a new therapist, she’s also practicing what she preaches—making space for rest, reflection, and self-compassion.

Catherine is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#13670) and a non-certified professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

If you think Catherine might be a good fit for you, feel free to reach out to book an appointment.
